From Year 3 to Year 5 your child will follow the QCA
schemes of work (National Curriculum), linked in with the 11+ Common Entrance
syllabus. Years 6 to 8 follow the 13+ Common Entrance syllabus, which culminates
in the examination preferred by most senior schools as their measure of entry
from prep schools. This syllabus also serves as the basis for preparation for scholarship exams.

Across all ages, children are taught as much as
possible from a practical stand point. Pupils have many opportunities to explore
ideas of their own and work independently. Where practical work is impossible,
we use interactive programs and interactive white boards to help the
understanding of abstract concepts, for example, the study of atoms and
molecules.
"Pupils have many opportunities to explore ideas of their own and work independently. In a Year 4 science lesson, for example, pupils were asked to make hypotheses about the factors which affect the size of a frictional force and test these through a series of practical investigations."
