Number Detectives at Work

Year 5 pupils, Hugo Abel and Hannah Whitehouse, Eve Gatenby and Andrew Sands visited Wellington College in Berkshire to take part in a maths challenge involving 120 children from 30 prep schools.
Farleigh's Number Detectives

Working in pairs, our four 'Number Detectives' took part in ten different mathematical tasks, gaining investigative points as they went along. The maths was tremendous fun, keeping 120 young brains really busy solving a variety of exciting problems for 100 minutes.

To quote Andrew, "That's three periods of maths non-stop and yet at the end prizes were awarded purely on luck."

A fantastic afternoon was had by all.
