Tennis Off To A Good Start

The first tennis fixture of the Summer Term saw eight U13 girls and boys take on Chafyn Grove. The girls - Indiana Coen, Harriet Farquharson, Georgina Grant and Abigail Rigg were anxious about the opposition but rose to the challenge and won by 3 sets to 1. The boys - Luke Barge, Cyprian Owen Edmunds, Freddie Richards and Ben Simon had a shaky start, but managed to win one set, ultimately losing the match 1-3.

A successful afternoon for the U12 girls
Twelve U12 girls went to Godolphin School on a chilly Monday afternoon and managed to avoid the heavy rain showers. The 'A' team of Victoria Aguirre de Santa Pau, Charlotte Eden, Victoria Everson, Lily Marriott, Lydia North and Xenia Petley played 3 sets each and won 8 of them. The 'B' team comprising Alice Ashley, Rosabel Crean, Calypso Day, Maddie Haggas, Marina McWhirter and Zoe Haswell were lucky enough to play on the Godolphin grass courts and managed to win 8 of their 9 sets. All the girls played extremely well, with consistent serving, deep ground strokes and great volleying at the net.
