A Very English Fête
Following St George's Day on Thursday, the highlight of Sunday afternoon was a traditional
English village fête. Complete with bunting, the back garden was transformed with
a range of games and events. Particularly popular were the waterslide (at which Henry Braithwaite was undoubted champion), stocks and coconut
shy.
There was also apple bobbing, welly wanging, ‘splat the rat’, the flour
game, hoopla, giant skittles and others. The afternoon ended with tea and a
‘balloon gather’. Farleigh at its very best.
