Latin begins in Year 6 with three periods a week. Four periods a week are taught in Years 7 and 8. The Common Entrance exam can be taken at three levels, and the less able should still be ready to take Level One after three years. Farleigh believes that the rigours of the subject are beneficial to children of all abilities.
