'Popstars'

The winning 1st XV ballet troupe
Farleigh's famous annual Popstars extravaganza was another superb evening's entertainment for 100 boarders on Saturday night.

Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh are not a patch on Farleigh's extraordinary judging panel, which included Elvis and Tinkerbell!

The children performed as soloists and in bands in a variety of eye-popping, toe tapping acts. An enormous amount of preparation went into their acts with many of them rehearsing their singing and dance routines for weeks.

The surprise winner was a corps de ballet of Year 8 boys performing their version of 'Swan Lake'. Who would have thought a few weeks ago that  members of the 1st XV rugby team were capable of putting on a performance so totally out of their comfort zone? So shocked were the teachers that they were asked to perform again in front of the whole school in Monday morning's assembly.
