Gymnastics Success

Congratulations to the ten girls from Year 5 who took part in the U10 Novice IAPS Gymnastics Competition at St Albans High School for Girls.

They performed a routine to music involving at least 10 gymnastics skills, linked together with dance movements to ensure that they use the square of the mat well. They chose the moves, linked them, and choreographed them onto the mat area themselves.

Particular highlights were the best floor routines
seen on the day performed by Eliza Carr, Willow and Georgie. In the vaulting section, Eliza Smith managed to perform an excellent straddle vault.

The girls had some talented opposition in their age group from St Albans, Stormont and St Mary's, but came away with three placement medals, including Gold for Anouska with 18.2 points.

Well done to them all.
