Appropriately, and close to the 25th January, the first Dinner Night of the term celebrated Burns' Night. The boarders were great company and appreciated the opportunity to experience Scottish culture with haggis, bagpipes and Burns' poetry. Mr Bradbuy (from Manchester, although he did spend six years teaching in Scotland!) put on a polished Scottish accent as he read 'The Selkirk Grace', 'Address to a Haggis' and 'My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose'.
Robert Burns was born on
25th January 1759 and although his best known work is 'Auld Lang Syne', he wrote hundreds of other well known poetry and lyrics.
