Junior Recital
Pupils in Years 3 to 5 were given the opportunity to showcase their talents in
the recent Junior Recital. Four ensembles and five soloists took part.
The
100-strong Junior Choir opened the evening with a reprise of Lloyd-Webber's When
Children Rule the World, learned for the Carol Service last term. The reins were
handed over to the Junior String Quartet and Year 5 String Sinfonia who combined
in a performance of J'ai du bon Violon. Isabella, Claudia and Freddie all sang
memorable solos, whilst Rory impressed the audience on the piano and Isobel
performed a violin duet with her teacher. The SaxPack provided an apt Fanfare
before Pond:Life took the stage and wowed the audience with their performances
of 1920s classics: JaDa and Five Foot Two.
The Junior Choir concluded the
evening with a dynamically exciting performance of A Cat Called Alexander and a
beautifully sensitive Believe, notable for the strong part-singing. Thanks to
all those whose hard work in the younger years yields such excellent results,
both here and further up the school.
