Olympic Hockey Festival
Fourteen senior girls were lucky enough to take part in a training and playing session with four England and Great Britain Olympic hockey players: Alex Danson, Helen Richardson, Beth Storry (GK) and Kate Walsh (Captain). They learnt drills and skills to promote shooting, set pieces, goal keeping, 1 v 1 skills and backhand hitting.
Victoria Everson, who was awarded a 13+ Sports Scholarship from Farleigh to St Mary's, Ascot in 2010 was one of St Mary's youngest 1st team players and it was great to witness her goal. She was one of only three girls that day to score against the Olympic goal keeper.
We took part in a charity raffle in aid of Women's Aid and two of our Spanish pupils were winners. Teresa won a ball and Sofia won a St Mary's 1st team hockey shirt signed by seven Internationals.
