Spanish Day
Spanish Day, the initiative of Farleigh's pupil led School Council, was a wonderful day.
Our four current pupils from Spain put on an assembly, which explained some of their customs and traditions.
Pupils were encouraged to greet and thank each other in Spanish. The Lord's Prayer was said in Spanish, as well as grace at lunch and at supper. The library and dining rooms were this week dedicated to all things Spanish.
Chicken and chorizo paella was on the menu at lunch time and for the boarders' Spanish Night in the evening, calamari and steak. The highlight of the evening was the 'piƱata', the traditional game in which someone is blindfolded and hits a papier mache
balloon to release sweets!
Well done to the School Council and all the staff, especially Mrs Harding and Miss Stewart. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day.
