The annual St Cecilia Concert was another roaring success. Over 100 musicians
performed on the evening; the Orchestra, Flute, Clarinet and String Quartets,
Guitar Trio, SaxPack, Senior Choir and Big Band all playing to a very high
standard, the music ranging from a Half-Minute Waltz via The Jackson 5 to Jerome
Kern.
The same standard was achieved in an excellent set of Associated Board
exams. Thirty-two pupils took exams ranging from Grades 1 to 5 over two days. In total,
they achieved 16 Merits or Distinctions, and 16 Pass marks. The average mark was
exactly 120 (a merit).
