Senior Wessex Athletics

Fifty athletes from Years 6, 7 and 8 represented Farleigh at the Senior Wessex Athletics Meeting at Bournemouth Athletics Centre on Wednesday 11th June.Competing with 25 schools, our team took part in many of the events with some fantastic results. Significant achievements included finalists in every age group for the boys and girls hurdles, as well as finalists in five out of the six age groups in the relay.

Thirteen of our athletes will be representing Wessex at the IAPS National Prep Schools' Championships at the Alexandra Stadium in Birmingham on 2nd July. They will represent Farleigh across a range of events including sprinting, middle distance running, long jump, high jump, javelin and shot putt.

F Henderson, Year 7, summed up the spirit of the day which was all about taking part and having fun: "I didn't get anywhere near the medals but I smashed my personal best!"
