The 20,000 Project

We have produced our first Farleigh short film which follows the planting of the 20,000 painted sticks and includes, from the 'World War One Remembered' evening on Thursday, the Chapel Choir's performance of For the Fallen by Laurence Binyon and Mark Blatchly, 1914 and 1980.

Mark Blatchly, organist of Charterhouse School, composed this moving setting of Laurence Binyon's words whilst a student at Oxford in 1980. It has often been performed by the Choir of St Paul's Cathedral at the annual Festival of Remembrance in the Royal Albert Hall.
