What a difference a bit of sun can make. Despite being a gruelling challenge for many, everyone (especially the spectators) enjoyed the beautiful weather and the children's fantastic spirit.
Congratulations to Sam Bradby, Year 4, who set a new junior record. He led the field in the junior race (Years 3, 4 and 5) from the start, taking just 9 minutes, 25 seconds

to complete the 1.5 mile course. Fergus Hamilton, Year 5, came 2nd, with Harry Cook and Joseph Kelly hot on his heels in 3rd and 4th place. Although these were the leaders, almost 150 children took part and they all deserve huge praise for their efforts.
The senior race (Years 6,7 and 8) was a closely fought battle with Chris Robinson, Year 7, closing the gap in the latter stages on the winner, Cyprian Owen Edmunds, Year 8, who completed the 2 mile course in 12 minutes, 37 seconds. Freddie Richards, Year 8, came 3rd and George Henry, Year 6, ran an outstanding race to finish 4th. Nearly 150 children took part in this race too. Congratulations to them all.
Well done to Kestrels, who came 1st in the junior race and 2nd in the senior race to be the overall victors. Merlins won the senior race.
