About Farleigh
Spiritual Life

"Pupils' personal development is promoted well. Spiritual awareness is developed effectively through assemblies and worship and reinforced through the curriculum and life of the school." ISI Inspection Report 2003

The welcoming Chapel
The Chapel is at the heart of the school and amidst all the activity and bustle of the day, it provides a well-used place of quiet, reflection and prayer. Boarders visit the Chapel for short, simple evening prayers after supper.

All the children participate in our varied services and Mass takes place every other Thursday. The Chapel is also open to the public for Mass at 10.00am on Sundays throughout the year and is filled with boarders, school families and parishioners.

Preparing for their First Holy Communion at Downside Abbey
Farleigh's Catholic foundation and ethos remain central to all that we do. We welcome those of other faiths and everyone is encouraged to aspire to shared values, such as kindness, forgiveness and respect within the school community and beyond.

Catholic pupils are prepared for the sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation, which are celebrated at school. Father Simon is our Chaplain as well as being Headmaster.
