| Boys play rugby in the Spring Term |
“Sport is important at Farleigh and your child will move to his or her senior school with an understanding of the need for a healthy lifestyle and a love of playing the game. There are many benefits of physical fitness and learning to play as a team, and we are committed to training and coaching all abilities.
The major sports for boys are rugby, football, cricket, athletics and cross-country; for girls they are netball, hockey, rounders, athletics and cross-country. Games are played four afternoons per week with

competitive fixtures against other schools timetabled on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Tennis is also popular and coaching is available throughout the year.
Some children have the opportunity to play for Hampshire at cricket and hockey; and for Wessex at rugby. One of our pupils was recently Captain of the Wessex U13 rugby team. Others also gain selection for the National Preparatory Schools Athletics Championships.
Two swimming pools – one indoor, opened in 2005 – and an outdoor pool, which remains popular with boarders in the summer months, help to ensure that your child gains sound swimming skills and confidence in the water from qualified swimming teachers.
