Buzzing Pre-Prep

Pre-Prep is buzzing with activity, both inside and out, as everyone bounds in for the exciting new year ahead. Our new friends are mingling with the familiar Pre-Prep faces and the children are getting to know each other already. Everyone is settling well into the Farleigh family.

Activity-wise, there is so much going on! We've already looked back to the old days in the Year 1 History of Toys Workshop last week and, this week, Amanda from Merry Go Storytelling led a Storytelling through Junk Modelling Workshop with our Reception children - the best use of recycling we have found yet. We want to give the children some ideas and tools early on in our junk modelling / storytelling / construction / imagineering stations so that they can take these and build on them throughout the year.

With all this beautiful weather afoot there has been plenty of opportunity to get outside. It has been a magical time to use the Pre-Prep woods, which are looking stunning. They provide the best possible backdrop to our outdoor exploration and play.

We are pleased to welcome a brave band of Year 5 pupils into the Pre-Prep to form the backbone of our Buddies Club. Our children are getting to know their older counterparts and are inspired and strengthened by their guidance, with the invaluable help of Mrs Prior. The Accelerated Reader programme has also taken off well in Year 2, so watch this space for news on who reads what and how much!

Mrs Wilton is busy planning a rich and uplifting term, from singing our hearts out to exploring Noah's Ark, building mud creations to getting our hands on the latest books. We will, of course, keep you posted.
