Buzzing to bee the best they can bee

‘Bee the best person you can bee' was the theme of our whole school assembly this year. Miss Redmond arranged for all pupils - from Reception all the way up to Year 8 - to come together to form bonds and get to know each other. Meeting with their ‘buddies’, they coloured in a Bee and agreed the ways in which they can make Farleigh the best place to Bee! Watching the happy faces engaged in the task was wonderful. Promises of meeting up again were firmly made as the older pupils took their young friends back to their classrooms, after prayers and hymns in the Theatre.

Everyone felt that this was the Farleigh spirit at its best, as we all received our own tiny Bee to remind us, daily, of our aim to make this the best possible place to grow, live and work. Miss Mitchell in 4R said, “The Year 4 and 5s were 'beeing' awesome and showing off their super voices and cool dance moves whilst singing along to The Greatest Showman!” Miss Dunn in 4D commented that, “the children thoroughly enjoyed spending time with their new buddy and all of us teachers felt very proud to see such a caring nature from the children.” Mrs Wilton was delighted to report that some Year 8s have asked to come and read with their buddies at lunchtimes!

All in all, an exceptional opportunity and experience for the entire Farleigh community.
