Pre-Prep Sports Day... so far

We imagined that we would not get to see any form of real Sports Day this year, so we have been delighted this week to see the Reception and Year 1 classes having fun competing in a number of events for the first ‘innings’ of a two-part Sports Day.

They tackled the 30m sprint, a challenging 200m run and a standing long jump as the first of the two parts to their Sports Day this year. Despite only being able to take part within their bubbles, this did not dampen their enthusiasm or curb their vigour in cheering each other on. The speed, endurance and power of many belies their young age. They competed well and produced some excellent results.

We look forward to the second part next week, which includes a welly throw and an egg and spoon race. We anticipate getting Year 2 straight into the Pre-Prep Sports Day action when they return on Monday. We can’t wait!
