WORLD BOOK DAY

Last week, one of our yearly favourites rolled around again. From the Lorax, to Gansta Granny, to pirates, princesses and three little pigs, we are always astounded by the careful crafting of costumes, and the creativity the children reflect when representing their favourite book characters.

The day began with a World Book Day assembly which included highlighting some of the best costumes, poetry reciting, and various pupils pitching the appeal of their favourite books. Other highlights included the designing of vibrant book vouchers, and an ever-growing book recommendation paper chain, which we hope will stretch the length of the school by the time we're done with it!

A few staff mentions must go to:

Scooby Doo from our Year 3 teachers, Pirates of the Caribbean from our Year 4 teachers, and the Lion, the Witch and the (life-sized cardboard) wardrobe from our Year 5 teachers.

This tradition always brings the excitement of reading to our pupils, and the enduring enjoyment which can be found in a good old-fashioned book!
