A Dramatic Result

One hundred and ninety-three pupils took LAMDA Acting, and Verse & Prose examinations in the past year, of which 115 achieved Distinction, 77 gained Merits and one, a Pass. All the Year 8 drama scholars achieved Distinctions (pictured is last year's Year 8 LAMDA Showcase).

The average score was 80%, which is fantastic considering Distinction is 80%, so a great effort by our pupils. Seventy-seven achieved Merits and 24 achieved 78%. Martha F and Grace C-S achieved 100% in their acting section. Millie L and Amelia G scored 90% in their exams.

Everyone did exceptionally well, so congratulations to you all. It is remarkable to see children who really didn’t believe they could pass, absolutely smash their exam. They have so much to do on a day-to-day basis and yet still step up and shine! It is a privilege to be part of this and a great honour to coach them. In a word, awesome!

All levels of LAMDA exams are accredited as recognisable equivalents to standard qualifications: Level 1 exams (Grades 1-3) are the equivalent of low grades at GCSE, Level 2 (Grades 4 & 5) high grade GCSE and Level 3 (Grades 6, 7 & 8) have the equivalent UCAS points of AS and A-Levels.

Finally, I am delighted to announce the Heads of LAMDA for the next academic year:

Charlie E (Head of Boys), Felix C (Deputy)

Lucy S (Head of Girls), Eliza P and Olivia StG (Deputy)

Iona G and Tallulah S (Head of Junior LAMDA)
