The School Day

A child starts in the Pre-Prep in the September after his or her fourth birthday and they are taught primarily by their form teacher. The basic school day runs from 8.15am-3.30pm.

The lively curriculum has a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy, and includes religious studies, science, history, geography, French (from Reception), ICT (Information and Communication Technology), PE (Physical Education), dance, drama, music, art and craft. French, religious studies, dance and music are taught by specialist teachers. Music, drama and ballet, outings to places of interest, talks from visiting speakers and participation in the sacramental and prayer life of the school, are all integral to your child's development in the Pre-Prep.

The Theatre, sports hall and stunning grounds are used for drama, gymnastics and games, the indoor pool for swimming, the Music School for individual tuition of instruments, and the Prep School dining hall for delicious, homemade, hot lunches. The children are happy, stimulated and consequently eager to learn.

Children requiring morning care can attend Breakfast Club, from 7.30am each morning.

Children should arrive for the school day at 8.15am and go to their classrooms, with assembly taking place from 8.30am-8.50am.

The school day ends at 3.30pm, although Kindergarten can take part in Late Club, which ends at 4.50pm and have a light supper in Twilight Supper Club from 4.50pm to 5.45pm. Reception and Years 1 and 2 benefit from access to both of these clubs and can also book to attend our After-School Activities from 4.00pm-4.50pm.
