A ‘Famous & Influential’ Spring Fling

The day before we broke up for the Easter holidays, everyone at Farleigh threw themselves into the fun of our annual charity Spring Fling, raising £908 to be split between our two school charities, Mary’s Meals and Purple Oak Support.

Pre-Prep had the first fun, with an afternoon disco in the Theatre. From Kindergarten to Year 2, the children thoroughly enjoyed showing off their dance moves. They even chose their favourite dance songs by way of voting in class, previously. Taylor Swift and Little Mix were common choices as well as the ever-popular Baby Shark, Gangnam Style and many Disney classics. The Pre-Prep staff were really impressed with the party clothes choices and how much all the children enjoyed the disco experience!

Later on, Prep pupils, dressed to impress to the theme of ‘The Famous and Influential,’ enjoyed an early supper of pasta pots, followed by the choice of the photo booth, sweet treats, disco and a film. Pupils and teachers alike had a great time on the dance floor, encouraged by Team Barbie and ably DJ'd by Mr Reeves and Mr Whithear, whilst being ‘papped’ by our roaming photographers, including Mr Tween. The sweet stall proved popular, as did the photo booth, and Peter Rabbit was enjoyed by those wanting to chill out. Extra entertainment was provided by the teachers who sported an eclectic assortment of outfits, including Year 8’s KISS, Year 5’s Team Barbie, the Spice Girls, Eddie the Eagle, Jane Austen and Van Gogh, amongst many others.

The event was the perfect way to celebrate the end of term, and the Student Council would like to give a huge thank you to all of those involved.
