Farleigh hosted its inaugural wreath-making workshop, marking the beginning of what promises to be a new annual tradition of festive fun. Held in the scenic surroundings of the school grounds and Farleigh’s creative hub (Mrs Maw’s outstanding art department!), the event brought together a community of creative participants eager to kick off the Christmas holiday season in style.
The workshop, which offered a hands-on wreath-making experience, showcased an array of seasonal foliage, much of it sourced from the estate’s very own grounds. Our lovely staff worked with mixed conifer, eucalyptus, and Russian sage, each adding their own unique texture and fragrance to the wreaths. Other beautiful elements included dried teasel, hydrangea blooms, fir cones, and dried verbena, allowing everyone to craft their own bespoke, nature-inspired creations.
The atmosphere was festive and lively, with plenty of sparkle to go around. As staff worked on their wreaths, they were treated to a selection of delicious homemade nibbles, including traditional mince pies, perfect for satisfying any sweet cravings. To keep spirits high, mulled wine and a glass of fizz were served, adding an extra layer of warmth and cheer to the event.
The workshop was not only a chance to make something beautiful but also to connect with others in a relaxed, joyful environment. Laughter and conversation filled the air as the staff shared tips, ideas and festive stories, all while creating unique wreaths to take home. A resounding success, it combined creativity, community, and holiday cheer, offering the perfect way to embrace the spirit of the season.
Mrs Penny on reception, said, “This was so good for the soul! Everyone did so well and we all left with such a feeling of accomplishment.”
