The superb Year 8 Art Scholars’ Exhibition was on display for all to appreciate in the last week of term.

The work of the five Year 8 art scholars is outstanding and, unsurprisingly, all five gained awards to their senior schools: Ampleforth, Bryanston, Canford, Dauntsey’s and St Mary’s School, Ascot.

To quote a past parent who attended the Private View on Monday: “I absolutely loved the private view. Phenomenal work. Farleigh (Mrs Maw) art is exceptional. It is fab’ to see both natural talent and good teaching coming together to create such wonderful paintings and sculpture. Really talented kids. I was very tempted to steal a number of pieces that are basically foundation level work. The whole school should bathe in that art room because it is truly special. I cannot believe that there is any art room anywhere in the country that touches that Farleigh space. Brilliant! I salute Mrs Maw and her support team.”

Our congratulations to the scholars on producing the work which makes up this exhibition - many hours of extra-curricular work have gone into producing both the pieces and the exhibition itself, which has given the whole school such a central core to marvel at during our last week of term.
