Sports Days Like Never Before!

For many reasons, the Prep School Sports Day was like no other: split into two, with fewer parents, seated and socially distanced, it felt very different. Despite some changes to the format this year, the Sports Department tried to retain some of the features and characteristics of our dear colleague Graeme Ellison’s original concept for the best kind of day. Sports Day, for Mr Ellison, had many different events, from the traditional races, relays, high jump, long jump, throwing etc. to penalty shootout, tug of war and hit the stumps. Tug of war, in particular, is always really exciting to watch and is fiercely competitive.

We are delighted that this year we were able to run all the Sports Days, including those in the Kindergarten and Pre-Prep. It was wonderful to see these little people enjoying themselves and throwing themselves into dressing up, egg and spoon races, obstacle courses, running and standing jump; again, great variety. The warm-up dance with the Pre-Prep parents joining in with their children was Farleigh at its best. #farleighfamily
